Marc paints with bold colours and an abstract approach and his audience ranges from young to old. If pushed to explain his artistic influences he will usually say there are none. Those that know him best would say “that would be about right.”
Marc creates his art through a process that involves observation, composition, and colour variation. Quite often he is inspired by an old photograph of a scene from the past when times were simpler, usually involving children playing in the street. Marc then sketches a basic outline and determines the colour palette to suit the subject. He works predominantly with acrylic paints on canvas using a wide range of colour variation throughout.
This bright bold colouring, composition theme and a stylised abstract nature creates an art style that often gains praise as a style verging on the unique. Marc’s paintings tend to be large, room-dominating artworks that draw the eye and stimulate discussion. “It all starts with a concept. Inspiration for creating artwork is quite literally everywhere. I like to take a simple subject and apply my colour variations. I guess this makes me an abstract painter…it’s up to others to decide.”
