Jonathan Ormrod

Jonathan is a self-trained Palmerston North based artist who started painting in early 2000. His works are inspired by poetry, colour and travel. He likes to paint in several different styles of which he draws inspiration from a diverse range of influences, including but not limited to the renaissance period, abstract shapes and colours, and landscapes. Jonathan’s work uses a variety of mediums - inks on paper and canvas, acrylics, charcoal, plasters combined with mixed medias and textures, traditional printing stamps and wax. Some of his newer works are very much sculptural and feature barbed wire, paints and lacquers.
