Agate Rubene

Agate Rubene is the artist & illustrator behind Restless & Infectious. Born in Latvia, Agate is currently living and working in Auckland, New Zealand.
After studying fashion design in Riga Design and Art School, Agate moved to Denmark and later Amsterdam, The Netherlands where she completed degrees in Design & Business in TEKO and Amsterdam Fashion Institute. With a background in fashion Agate first started with exploration of fashion illustration which has had a huge influence on her style. Agate’s work focuses on people and their actions, capturing emotions and drawing life’s pleasures with a light-hearted nature.
She uses bright colour palettes, fluid shapes and vibrant characters to create alternative realities. Her artworks are inspired by daily personal experiences, mood and aesthetic of pop culture.
