John is a North Shore based artist with a background in construction. Long-time resident of the gallery, John is most known for his unique sculptural work in which birds, abstract figures, and organic shapes are recurring themes. John primarily uses Fiberstone (grc) in his sculptural work, which he says is suitable for most environments and provides him with the widest possible creative options in terms of size, texture, and colour. Fiberstone is a blend of fiberglass and crushed stone, and its versatility means it can have a rough, sandy texture that makes it look like real stone, or be smooth and slightly textured to resemble finished concrete.
John’s sculptures can be placed both indoors and outdoors, and weather the conditions much like stone or concrete. They can be cleaned with a sponge and soapy water and revived with a coat of clear wax to bring back the original look if desired.
